I swipe my own reminders away
A banner is designed to be dismissible. By the time you have read it, your thumb has already moved it off the screen, and the task is gone with it. TodoLot does not send a banner for things that matter: it rings like an alarm clock and says what the task is, so you know before you look.
What to say
“Call the bank at 9.”
That is the whole setup. Any task with a time becomes a talking alarm unless you ask for a quiet one.
What happens next
- At 9 the phone rings at your alarm volume, on silent and in Focus, the same mechanism the Clock app uses, and the voice says “Call the bank. It’s nine o’clock.”
- The alarm takes over the lock screen with the task on it. To make it stop you slide, the way you stop the Clock, not a flick you can do by accident.
- If you stop it and do nothing, the task waits in the “Just rang” card at the top of your list, and later in the Missed section. It does not disappear.
Make it stick
- Not everything should ring. Mark the small stuff as quiet on the confirm screen (the Quiet chip) and it arrives as a normal notification instead of an alarm.
- Choose who talks. The free plan uses the iPhone’s built-in voice; TodoLot Pro adds 8 natural voices, from gentle Sarah to no-nonsense Harry, and a wake-up sound before the voice.
- The alarm volume is the one your Clock app uses (iOS Settings → Sounds & Haptics). A “gentle wake-up” option in Settings fades the sound in instead of starting loud.
Free or Pro?
Talking alarms with the system voice are free. Natural voices and wake-up sounds are part of TodoLot Pro, with a 3-day free trial.
